It started at a dinner table in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Nineteen years ago, Hochun flew from Korea to Coos Bay and moved in with Ian’s family as an exchange student. He arrived a stranger. He left as family.
Love at first crunch.
Two years ago, we found each other again. We wanted to do something awesome together so we built Sarang, the Korean word for love. Bold Korean flavor. Real ingredients. And because we know what it means to be welcomed at someone’s table, every bag sold on sarangsnacks.com helps provide a meal for someone in need.
Hochun can’t stop talking about food.
A lifelong food obsession became a creator career, and sharing Korean flavors with the internet became a job. The one thing missing: a snack he was proud to hand people. So we made it. Real gochugaru heat, white miso and shiitake umami, sea salt and toasted sesame to finish.
Love means everyone eats.
Every bag sold on sarangsnacks.com helps provide a meal for someone in need. We donate 25 cents from every bag to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, supporting their work to feed people across LA County.
